Hi Lucy! Thanks for sitting down with us. Would you be able to tell us a little about your background please and what brought you to Cherry Godfrey?
I worked part-time for three years before coming to Cherry Godfrey, managing to juggle my work alongside my sixth-form studies. I have always worked in customer service and find real enjoyment in interacting with people.
That’s so impressive! What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?
My first job was at Oaty’s. Working there gave me a grounding in customer service and taught me how to work in a team - which I like! It also gave me an understanding of what is expected in the workplace.
What do you think makes someone a great leader?
I feel that a great leader must have the qualities to ensure that their peers are happy and focused when at work. They should be sympathetic, encouraging, and supportive of their team.
Absolutely. Can you please tell us about the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced at work? How did you overcome it?
I’ve dealt with a lot of unhappy customers in previous roles elsewhere, which can be challenging, although I feel that I overcome these issues by staying calm and reassuring. I have learned that if I ever feel that I need further assistance I may go to someone higher up to assist.
Very wise. Can you please name one thing you love about Cherry Godfrey?
I love working in a team! You can still work hard and get the job done whilst having fun at the same time.
What daily habits help you succeed?
I find that the simple act of making my bed in the morning starts my day off right and puts me in the right mindset.
Agreed! If you were able to invite any three people round for dinner (living or dead), who would you choose – and why?
I would choose to have dinner with my sister and my friends because I feel that they are the people I can have the most fun around and they make me happy.
And, finally, what do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy going out and catching up with my friends and family. I also like spending my time going on wholesome walks with my dog!
