Name: Selena Geldenhuys

Company Role: Accounts administrator

Selena, thanks so much for agreeing to answer some questions for us. We’d like to get to know you a bit, so can you tell us your background and what brought you to Cherry Godfrey?

Hi, it’s a pleasure. So, I have a background in accounts, and I knew from my previous experience working at Cherry Godfrey that returning to it would be a good step in my career.

Looks like a good move. What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

I worked as a customer representative at Cherry Godfrey. It taught me how to be confident in communicating with our clients and people in general.

What do you think makes someone a great leader?

A great leader is someone who maintains a respectful and encouraging relationship with their team members. It’s someone who always sets a good example for their team.

Could you tell us about the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced at work and how you overcame it?

At first, working under pressure would have been a real challenge for me, but today I work best under pressure because I’m able to be extremely organised and can prioritise what needs to be done first.

Well, perhaps you could tell us your secret: what daily habits help you succeed?

A strict daily routine keeps me in line to succeed.

Name one thing you love about Cherry Godfrey?

Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Overall, it’s a good environment to be in.

That’s great to hear. If you were able to invite any three people round for dinner (living or dead), who would you choose – and why?

I would choose my sister and my parents, as we’re not able to have family time very often with them living in South Africa.

Oh, that’s a lovely answer. Finally, what do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I enjoy travelling back home to South Africa when I’m able, and spending quality time with those closest to me.

Hopefully, you’ll get to see them soon. Take care, Selena, and thanks so much for speaking with us today.

No problem. Bye!
